3 Table Setting Ideas for Autumn / Fall
Today I wanted to share with you 3 table setting ideas for Autumn / Fall! I love to decorate my table for the season, and the cozy nights and comfy food of this time of year is one of my favourites! I don’t think it needs to even be a particularly special occasion - setting the table can make any dinner special!
Vintage Books & Pumpkin Plates Table Setting
First, is this super autumnal set up featuring a vintage book and retro style pumpkin plate. I’ve used twine to tie a name tag around each book for a place name and stacked it all on simple white plates to allow the details to stand out. The retro look of the plates combined with the books gives a really homely touch, whilst not being over the top but still giving off that autumn place setting vibe.
For the centrepiece here I kept it really simple with a few autumn flowers scattered among some different sized milk bottles. These were actually from a previous DIY for Gold Block Vases and although looking slightly worse for wear a few years on, I actually think the scratches add a bit of charm that works quite well for Autumn. I then scattered a combo of acorns and pinecones for a natural look and used a large craft punch to create extra large book page confetti to tie in with the vintage book theme.
Overall, I think this creates a really beautiful and under-stated look that definitely has nods to autumn but without being over the top. Perfect if you just want to do something simple and easy for your autumn table.
Simple Acorn Table Setting
Option 2 in my 3 Table Setting Ideas for Autumn / Fall is this really simple acorn table setting. I used the technique on these acorns from my Chalk Pastel Pumpkins DIY Tutorial to create a really beautiful texture. These were then placed on some really lovely napkins to create a simple minimal look.
Matching pastel pumpkins make up the centerpiece, creating a gorgeous muted 70s colour palette. Pastels might not instantly say autumn / fall but when used in the right way they can add all the warmth and coziness needed. The texture added by the painting technique also keeps this looking very modern and will fit in with so many on trend interior styles such as boho etc.
This look is perfect if you want something light and bight and slightly more minimal for your autumn place setting that will work with your existing decor but still give fall / autumn vibes.
Glam Gold Pumpkins Table Setting
Third is the coziest option of our 3 table setting ideas for autumn or fall. For this look I spray painted some plastic pumpkins gold before using a gold twine to attach black tags. These were paired with mismatched napkins to give a really fun and cozy vibe. The slate table mats also help add some depth to the place setting.
These autumn place settings were then paired with an autumn leaf centrepiece, using both coloured leaves and a scattering of some sprayed gold and copper. Terrariums help add height to the display, which I then filled with some copper pumpkins for contrast. This look was about being the most traditionally autumnal so I used lots of gold and copper, but also combined with lots of the natural elements you’d usually find in fall / autumn decor such as pinecones and acorns. You can see these scattered throughout the centrepiece.
Finally, I used some gold tea light holders to really finish the autumn tablescape off and add that warm glow. There’s nothing quite like having a few candles on the table to really help bring a look to life. The combo of these with the gold pumpkins also helps add a special tough of glam to this autumn look.
I hope these 3 options for autumn / fall table settings help give you some inspo for your next autumn dinner party! Most of these are so easy, they’d be a lovely way to even make a Friday night dinner that touch extra special. Comment below to let me know whether your favourite look is 1, 2 or 3!
