Gold Pumpkin Autumn Wreath DIY
This might just be my favourite crafty DIY I’ve done so far and of course it’s for Autumn / Fall. I know we all love a Christmas wreath in the U.K. but I’m serious about wreaths becoming a real year round thing so this year I wanted to make my very own DIY Autumn Wreath. Not just any Autumn wreath though… a Gold Pumpkin Autumn Wreath.
I’ve written out everything you need and what I did for your own DIY Autumn Wreath below! It was actually a super easy DIY so hopefully this tutorial will give you the confidence to make your own too! I also had so many supplies left over it’s been mega easy to decorate for Autumn this year!
What you’ll need:
Black Paint
Small Paintbrush
A few single Faux Berries
Twine (for hanging)
Varnish Spray (if you’re hanging outside)
Method:
Before you begin assembling the wreath you want to turn your plastic pumpkins a perfect shade of gold by spray painting them (make sure you do this in a well ventilated area!)
You’ll also want to take a handful of your medium leaves (10-15) and spray half of these gold and the other half copper.
Last bit of spray painting, take your single berries and spray paint these rose gold.
Leave all these to dry.
Get your grapevine wreath and begin by using the hot glue gun to attach your large maple leaves sporadically around the wreath at various intervals, ensuring an even colour distribution and lots of different angles.
One you have a base of large leaves, take the medium leaves and repeat, filling in the gaps until most of the wreath is covered.
Use your hot glue gun to attach your 5 gold pumpkins to the wreath, evenly spaced around the circle.
Next to each pumpkin, thread one of your berry clusters into the wreath with the attached wire, ensuring each is on the same side of each pumpkin
Next I like to attach the pinecones with one between each pumpkin (use the hot glue gun again to do this)
Take your gold and rose gold leaves and use these to fill in any gaps in your wreath.
Lastly scatter your single berries and acorns around the wreath, making sure the distribution isn’t too regimented, attaching with hot glue.
Paint the stalks of your pumpkins black and leave to dry.
Once dry, spray with your varnish if you intend to hang outside.
Attach twine to the top for hanging!
This DIY might have a lot of steps but it’s really very simple! Basically just gather your things, pick your layout and hot glue to your hearts content! What I love about this is how many way your can make this Autumn Wreath DIY your own as well, the possibilities are endless with this! I wanted something with a touch of gold, but your pumpkins could be any colour!
I hope this brings some Autumn joy to your life this year! Are you a fan of Autumn wreaths or are wreaths strictly a Christmas affair in your house?! Will you be trying out your own Autumn Wreath DIY?
