House Tour: Living Room

Today I wanted to show a full tour of my favourite room in the house and definitely the one that feels the most ‘finished’ - although is a room ever really done? When I was planning this room, I really wanted it to be a great space for family and friends to socialise so I set the two sofas opposite each other to really create a great space for people to chat! Behind one of these we built a custom shelving unit, which also houses our projector and screen! In fact, I’ve written a whole blog post about how we built our hidden projector screen shelving unit if you’re curious how it works! Basically, it’s 100% the thing I love most about this room. My favourite pastime has got to be reshuffling these shelves as well!

Next to it I also have my magazine rack, which I change up every month or so. I love reading a real life magazine and the covers can be such pieces of art themselves I find this such a great way to get to appreciate them more. If you love magazines I couldn’t recommend this more for a living room detail.

Opposite the shelving unit we have the other sofa, which is the comfiest thing ever from Loaf. It’s called the Squishmeister and it definitely lives up to the name. Then above it I then have my super colourful gallery wall! I loved putting this together, combining lots of memories and special prints together to make something truly unique. A big part of my interior style is lots of white and neutrals, accented by pops of colour so this gallery wall is a really important feature of the room.

The final thing I bought for in here was this great Ikea shelving unit in the corner. This side of the room really needed some height and I just can’t get enough of more surfaces to display my stuff on! I really love something about a home that can show personality and I find this to be easiest and best way to inject a load! This along with the built in unit also allow me to really easily switch up the look of the room when I get bored, by changing a few items. This is perfect for a bit of seasonal decorating as well!

I’ve popped a few links for the main pieces from the room below but if you have any questions about the others, just leave a comment at the bottom!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my living room tour! I’d love to know what you think of it - especially what your favourite details are! Let me know in the comments!
